BEFORE YOU ORDER

Product & care guide.

LAST UPDATED: MAY 23, 2025

A few useful notes about the materials, finishes and everyday care behind a SHIULUNE home. Each piece is chosen to be lived with — and looked after with ease.

THE SHIULUNE EDIT

Character is part of the design.

Our collection brings together wood, ceramic, glass, metal and decorative finishes. Natural grain, hand-applied glaze and artisanal detailing mean small variations in tone, texture and pattern can occur from piece to piece. These are signs of material character, not flaws.

01

Before it arrives.

Read the product page closely

Each listing includes details about material, finish, intended use and care. Review this information before ordering, particularly for pieces you plan to pair with existing furniture or table settings.

Colour

Screen settings affect colour. Ceramic, wood and antique-style finishes can also vary subtly with light and from batch to batch.

Placement

Plan a protected, stable surface before your piece arrives. Keep delicate décor away from edges, direct heat and high-traffic areas.

02

Materials, considered.

MATERIAL WHAT TO EXPECT EVERYDAY APPROACH
Wood Natural grain and tonal shifts Keep dry; use coasters and wipe spills promptly.
Ceramic & porcelain Small glaze and pattern variation Handle with care; avoid sudden temperature changes.
Glass Fine bubbles or slight irregularity may occur Use a soft cloth and store where pieces cannot knock together.
Metal finishes Warm patina can develop over time Dry immediately after cleaning; avoid abrasive polish.

03

Care, made simple.

PIECE HOW TO CARE
Furniture & wood décor Dust with a soft dry cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid bleach, alcohol and silicone-based cleaners.
Decorative tableware Hand-wash with mild soap unless the product page says otherwise. Do not use abrasive pads or stack without protection.
Vases & glass objects Rinse gently and dry with a lint-free cloth. Do not place in a dishwasher unless specifically marked dishwasher-safe.
Upholstered pieces Vacuum lightly with a soft brush attachment. Blot spills promptly; do not rub. Seek professional advice for set-in stains.

04

For the table.

Set with ease

Use felt, linen or cork between delicate pieces and hard surfaces. Leave enough room between place settings for a relaxed table, and keep hot serving dishes on a trivet rather than directly on a finished surface.

When a spill happens

Act early: blot liquid rather than rubbing it in. Use mild soap and cool-to-warm water where suitable, then dry fully. Never use harsh chemicals on printed ceramic, gilded details or painted finishes.
